Daily Bible Reading Reflections

Do You Know the Time?

The apostle Paul said you should in Romans 13:11-14.

Besides this you know the time…

It’s not time to sleepwalk through life.

…the hour has come for you to wake from sleep.

It’s time to remember what matters more than anything else. More than money. More than power, luxury, or prestige. Even more than physical life itself.

Salvation is nearer to us now than when we first believed.

It’s time to stop hiding and start living as children of light.

The night is far gone; the day is at hand.

It’s time to take the war being waged over your soul seriously.

Let us cast off the works of darkness and put on the armor of light.

It’s time to walk in the light as God is in the light.

Let us walk properly as in the daytime, not in orgies and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and sensuality, not in quarreling and jealousy.

It’s time to take up our crosses, follow our Savior, and tread the path of life as his faithful servants.

Put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to gratify its desires.

Do you know the time? You should.

“Awake, O sleeper,
and arise from the dead,
and Christ will shine on you.”

Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is. (Eph 5:14-17)

Let’s make the best use of the time we’ve been given today.
