Let Moses Provide Fuel for Your Prayers Today

Today’s Bible reading is Psalm 90, “a prayer of Moses, the man of God.”

Could you use a little bit of fuel for your own prayers today? There’s plenty to be found in Psalm 90.

Moses provides PRAISE-fuel. Psalm 90:2 could be a powerful way to open each one of your prayers today:

Before the mountains were brought forth,
or ever you had formed the earth and the world,
from everlasting to everlasting you are God.

Moses provides PERSPECTIVE-fuel. Pray Psalm 90:4 and then just sit for a few quiet moments to meditate on this ancient truth:

For a thousand years in your sight
are but as yesterday when it is past,
or as a watch in the night.

Moses provides PENITENCE-fuel. Allow yourself to be humbled and driven to the cross by Psalm 90:8:

You have set our iniquities before you,
our secret sins in the light of your presence.

Moses provides PETITION-fuel. What a blessing to be able to make these pleas scattered throughout Psalm 90 personal:

Lord, please be my dwelling place–
my rock of refuge–today.

Teach me to number my days
that I may get a heart of wisdom.

Satisfy me in the morning with your steadfast love,
that I may rejoice and be glad all my days.

Let the favor of the Lord my God be upon me,
and establish the work of my hands.

If your heart could use a little bit of prayer-fuel today, Psalm 90 is a great place to fill up.
