Three Seeds for Your Prayers This Week

Take the time to meditate on three seeds from Psalm 56, today’s scheduled Bible reading—three seeds worth planting in your heart and integrating into your prayers this week. Three thousand years ago, David said to God and of God:

When I am afraid,
I put my trust in you. (Psa 56:3)

God is greater than our fears and uncertainties. God is worthy of our trust. God is able to bear the weight of all our cares and anxieties. God is.

You have kept count of my tossings;
put my tears in your bottle.
Are they not in your book? (Psa 56:8)

God knows the tossings and wrestlings of our hearts. God sees every one of our tears, and God cares.

This I know,
that God is for me. (Psa 56:9)

God is, God cares, and God is for you. “Therefore,” why wouldn’t I say with David, “in God, whose word I praise, in God I trust” (56:4)? Let’s praise him this morning, trust him today, and use these three verses from Psalm 56 as life-giving seeds for our prayers this week.
