Four “I Will” Resolutions From Psalm 101

Today’s Bible reading is Psalm 101. It contains several “I will” determinations of David. Consider just four of them–powerful resolutions worthy of thinking about and adopting as your own today:

  • “I will ponder the way that is blameless” (101:2): there is a way which is “right.” I will think before I act, speak, or react in order to walk this right pathway today.
  • “I will walk with integrity of heart” (101:2): I will not give in to temptations toward hypocrisy, dishonesty, or double-mindedness. Today, I will seek the LORD in the path which is right with my whole heart.
  • “I will not set before my eyes anything that is worthless” (101:3): in a world full of vanities and distractions, I will not allow anything to take my eyes off of the Giver of life, joy, peace, and hope. I am setting my mind on things above–on things which are truly worthwhile.
  • “I will know nothing of evil” (101:4): I will walk in the light today, as my God is in the light that I might be holy today, as my God is holy.

Adopt these four “I will” resolutions from Psalm 101 and today will be a good day.
