The Best Advice You’ll Get All Day

Today’s Bible reading is Ruth 3 and John 2.

Among many other things, John 2 contains the best advice you’ll get all day.

On the third day there was a wedding at Cana in Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there. Jesus also was invited to the wedding with his disciples. When the wine ran out, the mother of Jesus said to him, “They have no wine.” And Jesus said to her, “Woman, what does this have to do with me? My hour has not yet come.” His mother said to the servants, “Do whatever he tells you.” (John 2:1-5)

Easy to remember: “Do whatever he tells you.” Applicable to so many aspects of your day: “Do whatever he tells you.” Life, the way it was meant to be: “Do whatever he tells you.”

If I’m going to call him “Lord,” I must do whatever he tells me (Luke 6:46). If I love him, I’ll do whatever he tells me (John 14:15). If I’m going to be saved by him, I must do whatever he tells me (John 3:36).

It’s the best advice you’ll get all day, and it came from Jesus’ mother at a wedding in Cana nearly 2,000 years ago. “Do whatever he tells you.”
